Yesterday's Sunday

A couple of weeks ago I was able to do something I had wanted to do for a long time. I sat down at the church piano early Sunday morning and played hymns as they came to mind.....for a little over an hour. Hymns such as, "Great Is Thy Faithfulness", "All the Way My Saviour Leads Me", and "Sweeter Than All".

Mark recorded the hour of music and entitled the CD "Yesterday's Sunday". These hymns were not "arranged" but are simply played without interruption going from one hymn to the next in an easy listening format.

Some of my friends wanted a copy of "Yesterday's Sunday". If any of you would like a copy, just email me at folwinhim@yahoo.com and I will send it to you. (I am not making a charge for the CD, but if you wish to make a donation it would be greatly appreciated.)

(By the way, does anyone recognize the church in the photo? Looks a bit different now than it did then!)

I would like 6 CD's please. This will be just the perfect little gift for my little ladies class. How DID you know? Thanks, friend. Can't guess which Church that is.

One more service for us - this coming Wednesday night, and then we will begin "the waiting" for the Lord to direct what He has for us next. This will be a busy week in the other job and much "on-the-road" work, but soon a rest will come. And that will be good.

Come over soon. I might even dust.

Is that the old church in Thomasville--the one replaced by a new and very beautiful facility where camp meeting/conference was held? (Not that the old church didn't have its own beauty!) Can't remember the name of the churhc--ummmm--Old Zion??

No, actually, it is the church my dad pastored for eighteen years in Greensboro called The Gospel Chapel. My sister recognized it, but she was the only one.

"Yesterday's Sunday" is the most beautiful piano CD I have ever heard. It takes me back to the days when I would sit on the front pew in an otherwise empty church and listen to you play the piano and sing. It is one of my very favorite things to do! Thank you for the heart felt piano playing ! I love it......and I love you, Dot !

Love,
Dar

Dorothy - Thanks for commenting on my blog. I enjoyed reading yours. When I saw the picture of your Dad's typewriters, I remembered my Dad telling me that your Dad wrote sermons for Victor Glenn. Stay in touch.

Thanks for visiting my blog today. I wonder if you are from the Piedmont Triad, since you mentioned Greensboro. If so, we are neighbors.

How wonderful to be able to play by ear like you do. I write music, and have a time trying to play it perfectly, with the correct chords and all. I have to play over and over to get the song good enough to record, perfectionist that I am. I would love to have one of your CDs.

If you search Jesus on All Posters, you will find wonderful pictures of Jesus. :o)

I received your beautiful CD today. It is just absolutely gorgeous. You are very talented. I wish I knew the titles of all the music. Many I did know. "Glory To His Name?" is lovely and "He Hideth My Soul" is so pretty. The beginning was beautiful, and I liked the quiet song at the end. Did you write any of the music?

I need to get you to arrange some music I have written! I really don't play that well. But you inspire me. I never thought I could play by ear. But the man who sold me my piano says I do, since I write music.

I should get some more copies of your CD to send to some of my hymn and music lovers who visit my blog. :o)

That is a wonderful CD, so joyful and uplifting. Thank you so much.

Blessings,
Cathy

Dot - I NEED 10 of your "Yesterday's Sunday" CD's. I think I am worse than Mom with her Newton Brothers' CD. She listens to it every chance she gets....and I do the same with your piano CD!! I have several friends who are either having serious health problems or are in some type of health-care facility. I know they would love to have the encouragement from your CD.

I love you,
dar
